How to choose the four major international express couriers more cost-effective?

 The world’s four major international couriers generally refer to DHL (Sinotrans DHL), FedEx (U.S. Federal Express), UPS (United Parcel), and TNT (Heaven and Earth Express). In May 2017, FedEx acquired TNT, the four major international logistics into three major international logistics.



I. DHL

Price: Small packages less than 20KG, especially those below 5.5KG have the price advantage

Time: normal time, 2–5 working days can be delivered to the world, Europe is generally 3 working days, Southeast Asia is generally 2 working days.

Advantageous areas: Europe, Southeast Asia, and North America have the advantage.

2. UPS

Price: more than 100KG price advantage

Time: normal time, 2–4 working days to global delivery, sent to the United States in about 48 hours to be delivered.

Advantageous area: a strong area for the United States, Canada, etc., with the highest cost performance, fixed time tracking, detailed query records, and other advantages.

3. FedEx

Price: the 21KG-99KG price has advantages

Timing: 2–4 working days for global delivery if normal timing.

Advantageous region: very strong in Southeast Asia, the Americas and Europe are more competitive prices, other regions more expensive.

However, international couriers have a common disadvantage: 

The price is more expensive than other international couriers, large volume and lightweight is not suitable. Strict restrictions on consignments, can not send packages with liquids, powders, food, batteries, or CDs.

To sum up:

China — North America, UPS is cheaper than DHL.

UPS has an advantage in sending large shipments, and DHL has an advantage in price and timeliness for small packages.

During the epidemic U.S. express delivery UPS overall better than FedEx.

China — Africa, Africa DHL is cheaper than UPS price.
